Onagers & Ballista
Reman artillery is used primarily in siege warfare, but in many situations it is quite useful in pitched battles against massed enemy infantry. Heavy stones and flaming bombs have a demoralizing effect on most enemies as they watch their friends being brutally slain or at the very least they help thin out their ranks so the Legionaries have an easier time in close combat.
Onagers are Reman Catapults that fire "Fire Pots" at the enemy formations. The Fire Pot is set ablaze and fired from the Onager. Upon impact the Fire Pot shatters releasing a wide splash of flamable liquid and ignites burning everything nearby and hopefully soem of the enemy soldiers too.
Ballista are a direct fire catapult that fires either a light bolt like an arrow or in heavier versions fires a large stone. The Ballista is very accurate and can crush enemy soldiers just as easily as walls in a siege.
