Equites Antesignani
Equites Antesignani (Light Cavalry Pistoliers) are noble Cavalrymen, the expense of owning and fielding a warhorse in battle is much too high for the average soldier. The Equites are a part of the Equestrian class who are the elites among society. These nobles fight for Remas, but from the safety of their mounts. They can deliver devistating blows to the enemy's flanks or engage the enemy's cavalry as their Tribune sees fit. Their primary weapon is the "Plumbatae," a heavy weighted javelin. The word Antesignani translates into "Before the standards," refering to the Equites' primary role of battlefield scout rather than a true soldier.
